How To Share Faith With Others

January 28, 2020

As Christians, we want to take the opportunities that God gives to us to share His love with the people that we love.

However, it’s not always easy to know how to share God’s good news of salvation.

This video below gives you a simple way to explain salvation on a napkin.

The video is not meant to be a training course, per se.

It is simply a way for you to start a conversation about faith and to invite someone into a relationship with Jesus. (See the Three Circles Video above)

What if someone wants to take the step of following Christ? You can help them pray. Here’s an excerpt from Crosswalk.com:

The Sinner’s Prayer is a Christian term for a prayer that is said when someone wants to repent of their sin, ask God for forgiveness and state belief in the life, death, and saving resurrection ofJesus Christ. Romans 10:9-10 says that “if you declare with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

Countless numbers of people have come to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ through church services, friends, and family leading them in a salvation prayer. However, it is not merely words in a prayer that connect someone to God. Jesus Christ alone has the power to save through faith. Pastor J.D Greear explains it well, “It’s not the prayer that saves; it’s the repentance and faith behind the prayer that lays hold of salvation.” Here’s an example of a common prayer that you can pray with people to help them connect to God:

Lord Jesus, for too long I’ve kept you out of my life. I know that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself. No longer will I close the door when I hear you knocking. By faithI gratefully receive your gift of salvation. I am ready to trust you as my Lord and Savior. Thank you, Lord Jesus, for coming to earth. I believe you are theSon of God who died on the cross for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for bearing my sins and giving me the gift of eternal life. I believe your words are true. Come into my heart, Lord Jesus, and be mySavior. Amen.
