Auditions are scheduled approximately every 6-9 months and typically take place on Sunday afternoons.
For each round of auditions we offer multiple time slots to try to fit as many schedules as possible. In order to reserve a time slot please contact the Music Pastor at your respective campus.
Yes, When you schedule your appointment mention your area(s) of interest so we can provide an adequate amount of time.
Whether you are a vocalist or instrumentalist you will perform two songs from the list your Music Pastor gives to you upon confirmation of your time slot. If you are a vocalist please choose one of the songs in an opposite key so we can audition harmony as well. The songs that you are given to choose from have been intentionally chosen, so please don’t to bring your own song.
Bring your instrument and anything you think you may need to connect to the sound system.
It will be very important for you to have all of your parts (lyrics, harmonies, melodies, riffs, etc) memorized. When you schedule your audition time, you will be given access to lyrics, chord charts, and mp3 files in the appropriate keys so you have every opportunity to be prepared.
Your environment is respective to which Lifepoint campus for which you are auditioning. Your audition will be completely confidential except for the pastors or those potentially involved in the supporting band. We have built in time during your audition to talk through what it looks like to serve in the Worship & Arts Lifeteam, as well as time to get a sound mix you are comfortable with in your in-ear monitors.
If you are late you will need to reschedule your audition. Due to the respect of others involved we will honor their scheduled times. Alternately, you may wait outside your audition space in case someone else does not show.
You will be contacted by one of the Worship & Arts staff members in approximately one week from your audition. Keep in mind that the Worship & Arts Lifeteam spreads across much more than just the main auditorium, our goal is to provide musical support to the main auditorium, the Student Ministry, Lifegroups, etc… We hope that you will be willing to serve in multiple areas. If it is decided that you are not ready to be a part of the Worship & Arts Lifeteam in one area there are several other opportunities available for you to get involved in that can provide growth opportunities in your area of interest.
Worship team members need to be a minimum of 18 years old.
Being a worship leader or a part of the worship band is about much more than just the 20 minutes you are on stage from week to week. Being a worship leader is 99% about how you live your life when you are not on the stage. Since worship team members are key representatives of the church and are also recognized by the crowd, Lifepoint worship team members are required to be members of Lifepoint Church. If you are not currently a member, and would like more information, please check the calendar for the next Discovering Life Membership Class, or any Lifepoint staff can help you take the next steps.
