Paul Priddy

Our God is faithful and good. The privilege of prayer we have as believers in Christ allows us to witness that faithfulness and goodness first-hand. But do we use it? Are we a people who pursue God and who he is through prayer? Asking, seeking, and knocking? Moreover, do we rely upon God to transform us by the power of His Spirit into the people he calls us to be? In today’s message we see what a privilege praer is and how it should shape us as Kingdom Citizens.

1 God is our refuge and strength,a very present help in trouble. 2 Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, 3 though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains tremble at its swelling. Selah 4 There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,the holy habitation of the Most High. 5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved;God will help her when morning dawns. 6 The nations rage, the kingdoms totter;he utters his voice, the earth melts. 7 The Lord of hosts is with us;the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah 8 Come, behold the works of the Lord, how he has brought desolations on the earth. 9 He makes wars cease to the end of the earth;he breaks the bow and shatters the spear; he burns the chariots with fire. 10 “Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations,I will be exalted in the earth!” 11 The Lord of hosts is with us;the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Psalm 46:1-11

Only one Kingdom lasts forever.

7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.

Matthew 7:7-8

God wants us to ask a lot of Him.

9 Or which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a serpent? 11 If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!

Matthew 7:9-11

Prayer opens our eyes to see God's activity and power in our lives.

13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.

Matthew 7:13-14

We are a dependent people who must rely on our dependable God.
