Does God need our help in saving us? Paul is adamant that the answer is “no.” The work of Jesus is sufficient to redeem our souls, and while “adding” to many things may be positive, adding to the gospel makes it something other than the gospel. The gospel was, is, and always will be Jesus plus nothing.
