You don't have to choose between the relationship and the rules

Rules without relationship always leads to rebellion

Ex 20:13

You shall not murder.

This commandment is more culturally quoted than spiritually applied

Ps. 139:13-15

For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth.

Jer. 1:5

Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.

Lu. 1:41

And when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit,

There’s healing and hope for every harm

Matt 5:21-22a

“You have heard that it was said to those of old, ‘You shall not murder; and whoever murders will be liable to judgment.’ But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment;

The Rage Progression:

  • It begins with anger

Matt. 5:22b

whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council;

  • It grows with contempt

Matt. 5:22c

and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

  • It matures with malice
